Every bit as good as the big dollar motorsReview by Dennis

I purchased the 2000KV version for my Tekno ET48.3 and used it at my local club's trophy race. My first time running electric truggy, and i managed to podium in a crowd of guys running Tekin and Reedy motors. Power band is very smooth, and the power/speed is equal to the motors costing 3X more. Very happy with the purchase. (Posted on 7/22/2018)

I am testing the 2250kv version of the Hobbystar 4274 4-pole sensored motor in a Traxxas E-Revo Brushless Edition until it and a sensored ESC move to my Traxxas Summit. On 4S it seems just as fast and punchy as the stock 1515 2200kv motor and it is smoother than stock when run sensorless. When run sensored, it is leaps & bounds smoother. I love the fact that I can use either 3mm or 4mm motor screws to mount it. I was also pleasantly surprised how easy 10AWG wires soldered to the tabs. I am so impressed all around with the performance of this product that other Hobbystar motors will surely be added to my collection. (Posted on 12/29/2016)

Hobby Star 2000kv 4274/4D - Why Buy A Tekin ? Review by N/A

I was looking for a good value motor to pair up with my Hobby Wing XR8 ESC and install into my Losi eight 3.0 T. Let me just say such a great value. This motor is very responsive, fast and smooth. I've owned Tekin motors, and I must say it feels basically the same. I don't see any reason to buy a Tekin over the Hobby Star. If it makes you feel better to own the Tekin, then spend the extra money. Will I buy again, Yes you can count on it. Also Customer service is great. Order was shipped in 2 days from Cali to Ohio. How does the power compare between the 4274 motor and the 4076 motor? Which runs cooler/creates more power?
A:
The 4076 is going to provide more bottom end torque due to the longer design. How much heat either motor will generate is dependant on proper gearing and voltage selection. We highly recommend monitoring temps closely and adjusting gearing as needed.

What is a good gearing to race a 1/8 buggy? I would like to install in an rc8
A:
Proper gearing is trial and error, and is worth taking the time to monitor motor temps and get gearing dialed in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N83dcvcAYrs&t=1s

will this motor be able to run on 6s?
A:
They can, but it is still critical that you monitor motor temps and adjust gearing, any motor can overheat of not geared properly even when running within the voltage limitations. we have a good read on the topic here: https://www.rcjuice.com/power_system_setup
