I've ran alot of the hobbywing max8's in alot of my rigs, I had one in my hobao hyper sse and sold it off. I have a few of the hobbystar motors and they're awesome! I figured I'd give this guy a try. Man! I wasn't expecting much for $90 but I feel it out performs a max8. Super smooth, runs cool, efficient and definitely doesn't lack on power. More tunable than the hobbywing too. Only knock I can give it is that it's not waterproof. Get around that and you're golden. Even can run sensored motors!! I'm very impressed. This isn't even the pro version! (Posted on 4/18/2021)

these esc are the best for the money if you're looking for a good alternative for castle this is it. Far as tuning there awesome because all your tuning is from the card just like you would with a laptop with castle. Know to the meat and potatoes is that I use these esc for my drag cars which is a bandit running a 7800kv,6200kv 540 can on 4&5s and other car is a sakura xi with a 8350kv 540 can sensored on 4s ESC never get above luk warm and best believe I run my cars hard on the 8350kv motor I had to turn the power down almost to nothin to keep from smoking the tires with o prep. So if u worry about durability don't it's there; power it's most definitely there so please don't sleep on these esc they are a steal (Posted on 1/9/2020)

Now running this in my Erevo with the 2650kv Hobbystar 1/8th motor as well as in my Tekno SCT410.3 with Hobbystar Pro4 motor.

ESC Has never overheated, fans don't make weird noises. Can be updated to adjust internal BEC to 8v. 10/10 will Hobbystar 150a ESC again. (Posted on 9/27/2016)

Have this esc in my 1/8th truggy. I manage to make the A main week after week with no problems or worries! They are just as good if not better than other high priced big name esc's! I highly recommend it for bashers or avid racers such as myself. (Posted on 9/8/2016)

What is the maximum Kv on 2s ?
A:
No spec is given but it really depends on your motor and gearing. A motor geared too tall can pull too much current even on low-voltage so setup is critical. Please e-mail us at support@rcjuice.com for questions about your specific setup. Thank you.

What LCD Programming card is used with this esc? I see that the LED card is recommended but that does not provide the pc link that the manual shows.
A:
The LED card is the correct card for this ESC, to connect this ESC to a PC, you would need the Starlink PC link. Here is the link. https://www.rcjuice.com/hobbystar-starlink-usb-link-for-brushless-esc.html

Can this esc run a hobbystar Motor, 1/7 Scale - 1580KV
A:
Technically yes, but the motor draw is such that a 200a or 220a ESC would be better suited for operation.

Can this esc run a hobbystar Motor, 1/7 Scale - 1580KV Or am I better of with the 200amp hobbystar 2s-8s
A:
Based on our experiences with both ESC's, I would definitely suggest the 200a ESC with that application.
