When building or rebuilding shocks, once the shocks have been filled with fluid, it is always recommended that that the shock shaft is worked up and down and the shock be left to sit to let the air bubbles escape. The shock pump creates a vacuum inside the cylinder, drawing out the air quickly, no more waiting long periods for the air bubbles to dissolve, the shock pump does it in under 2 minutes on most shocks.
