Does the 1600kv run cooler than the 2000kv if geared for the same speed. I am asking about using this motor in an Arrma Talion.

It should definitely. Still stay on top of checking temps, sometimes a setup will do something different than would seem logical so it's really important to monitor, but your estimation is good.

Thanks. I have a temp gun which I use regularly. That’s how I determined that I needed a motor upgrade to run 6S more reliably/safely.

I will go for the Hobbystar 4082 1600kv.

Thanks for your advice.

The best option is to always go with a higher voltage and a lower HV, that is the ideal setup. However, in general the 1600KV is still going to run cooler. If you gear it to get the full speed as you would a 2000KV then you may overheat, but you can still pull the taller gear with the 1600KV and have a better chance of keeping those temps in check.

Thank you for your reply. I am trying to achieve close to 40mph on 4S and 55-60mph on 6S. I intend to run a 21t pinion with the 1600kv. It should run cooler than my 2000kv I currently have which is running a 17t pinion?
